Excellence in Community Service Scholarship

NCC is committed to serving all people because service to others is a significant way to live out our faith in community.  We foster a caring atmosphere of dignity, love, support, and respect for all.  We look for ways to care for our neighbors, and bring a sense of love and light to all. In concurrence with this mission, we have established the Excellence in Community Service Scholarship, to recognize and celebrate Newmarket students who demonstrate a generous spirit, show compassion and kindness to all people, and reach out a helping hand to others with respect and courtesy.

The Excellence in Community Service Scholarship is valued up to $1000.00.

Who Should Apply:

Individuals enrolling in a two or four-year advanced degree program are invited to apply

Qualifications: 

The NCC Excellence in Community Service Scholarship is available to graduating seniors of Newmarket High School who;

• Have been accepted to an advanced degree program and

• Have a passion for serving others demonstrated by their community service experience.

• Are moving towards a field of study and/or career in service, healthcare, or education.

Application Requirements:

• Name and contact information

• One letter of recommendation

• Proof of college/secondary education acceptance

• Resume including details of community service experiences, including agency/location, responsibilities, and duration.

When to Apply:

The 2026 deadline to apply is May 26, 2026.  Applications should be emailed to missionsboard@newmarketchurch.org or mailed to:

Award Distribution:

The award will be presented at the Senior Awards Ceremony at Newmarket High School.
