On a Mission to Help Others
For Allie Brookes, serving others has never been just another responsibility; it's a way of living out her faith.
As Chair of the Missions Board at NCC, Allie helps guide the church's outreach efforts both locally and beyond. Her leadership is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: faith grows strongest when it is put into action through caring for others.
" My inspiration for stepping into the role of Chair of the Missions Board comes from a deep commitment to serving both my community and the world as an expression of my faith," Allie shared. "I have always found that my faith is strongest when I am actively caring for others and working to make the world a better place for the people around me."
For Allie, one of the greatest joys of service work is seeing people come together with a common purpose. Whether it's volunteering in the local community or participating in a service project farther from home, she has witnessed firsthand how serving others changes not only the lives of those being helped, but also the hearts of those doing the helping.
" It's incredible not only to see the tangible difference we can make when we work together, but also to witness how service transforms those who participate," she said. "Whether someone returns from a service trip or spends an afternoon volunteering in the local community, those experiences have a way of changing hearts and perspectives."
She also recognizes that service work comes with important decisions. In a world filled with need, one of the church's greatest responsibilities is discerning where its time, resources, and energy can make the most meaningful impact.
That desire to serve has deep roots. Growing up, Allie watched her parents quietly model a life of generosity and compassion. Service wasn't something they squeezed into their schedules; it was simply part of who they were. Their example shaped her understanding of what it means to live faithfully.
"Giving back wasn't something they made time for; it was simply part of who they were," Allie reflected. "No matter how busy life becomes, it never feels complete unless I am finding ways to serve others."
In addition to leading the Missions Board, many members also recognize Allie from holiday worship services, where she serves as a liturgist. Whether helping lead worship or coordinating opportunities to serve, she approaches every role with humility, compassion, and a genuine desire to strengthen the church's connection with both God and the community.
Looking toward the future, Allie is excited about the continued impact Newmarket Community Church can have throughout the Seacoast and beyond.
"Newmarket and the Seacoast are special places, made even more so by the generosity and compassion of the people who call them home," she said. " I am grateful to be part of the NCC community that consistently goes above and beyond to love and serve its neighbors, and I look forward to helping lead that work in the years ahead."
